Taking Things Literally: A Struggle of Autism

We tend to take certain kinds of speech very literally, which causes us to misunderstand things. I don't misunderstand Jesus when he uses figurative language in the Gospels, though. So don't worry, I know Jesus wasn't telling us to literally maim and gouge ourselves when it comes to what causes us to sin. I use metaphors and analogies a lot myself.
