2004 Phantom movie: My Response to claims of incest

 Quite a few people label Christine's attraction to the Phantom as incest due to the fact she believed the Phantom was the ghost of her father in the 2004 philm. However, labeling her sexual attraction to the Phantom as incest is dishonest, inaccurate, and sloppy for several reasons. One, the Phantom was pretending to be the ghost of her father. Two, incest is defined as sexual intercourse or marriagebetween two people who are forbidden to marry because they're too closely related by blood. The Phantom is not actually the ghost of Christine's father so they are not related by blood. And finally, Christine manifests her sexual attraction to the Phantom in moments when she knows that the Phantom is himself, not when he's pretending to be the ghost of her father.
